These stunning ballet slippers feature a hand embroidered eagle feather by Northwest Coast native artist, Eric Parnell. Eric, from BC, Canada has become active as an artist since 2002. Yet his artistic heritage as a member of the Eagle Clan of the Haida Nation goes back many centuries. He studied traditional Haida art forms on this subject. Learning the formal descriptions of the shapes and subjects of paintings and carvings and adapting and creating his own distinctive paintings within his tradition. Eric collaborated with ‘Hides In Hand’ to create these beautiful slippers.

Haida Feather

In some native nations, they use the Eagle Feather in talking circles. The feather gets passed to whomever may be talking during a circle ceremony. It symbolizes Respect, Honour, Love, Humbleness, Truth, Natural Power, Strength, Courage, Wisdom and Freedom, Everything that is positive.
